Cider Making Course Sunday 22nd July
Following on from last years successful cider making workshops we will be running a few cider making courses in the run up to cider making season.
We will learn to process from start to finish and the time scales involved.
We start the day with a tour of the cidery.
We will be discussing the process and covering any questions you many have.
We will talk about different apple varieties and apple qualities and how to make a well balanced cider.
The Science behind cider making, fermentation process, cider problems and maturing times.
We will look in detail at the process of crushing the fruit, pressing the juice from the pulp and testing the juice ready for fermentation.
We look at sterilising and cleaning of equipment, bottling and packaging.
The courses are design for 8-12 people.
Warm cloths are advisable as the cidery during spring and autumn is a little chilly this time of year.
The course will include a delicious lunch at the local pub and more opportunity to pick the brains of a multi-international award winning cider maker.
The total cost is £95 and is on a first come first served basis.
Due to the rural location accessibility is a bit of a problem and we are not currently able to provide courses for disabled people.
